The question I had, however, that isn't answered by the official announcement: What about a DVD of 4/17/72 and/or 4/21/72? It looks like we'll get the audio for sure, but a "complete" set should include the video as well. Does anyone know?

Good question. I wonder what other goodies they might include...?
Bozo masks?
Coaster from a coffee shop in Amsterdam?
Bus passes?
Bangers and mash?

They're not saying yet...
Could be they're saving the vids for a later release, or maybe a DVD will be one of the "exclusive goodies" they mention for pre-orderers...

Money isn't the issue, the question is one of value, and just how much listening time would any individual invest.

Certainly have spent over $450 on GD albums, cd's, dvd's and can't even begin to guess as to the amount of coin dropped with the Maxell tape company over the last four decades.

Doubt that many folks who dwell here at the GD Forum will cough up the doe, ray, me, but do see some groups of folks sharing the initial expense and burning 60 discs.

I appreciate the ambitious nature of the proposed box set from the powers that be at Rhino. I'll kick it around for a day or two and probably proceed, i just hope that some of these sets don't show up @ Borders.com for 50% off in the next few years.

Gee, if they personalize mine, what exactly will be engraved on the box?
